Wondering why accounts are no longer listed in the sidebar and other thoughts...
Obviously I share many of the frustrations of the other users in this forum but I am not ready to throw in the towel, yet. I see the potential in Cha-Ching and I believe that it will come together soon. With that said, I'm sure some of these issues and frustrations could be avoided if you guys would just communicate a bit more (maybe even a simple Twitter account???). Just knowing that you are aware of the issues and that fixes are coming would be wonderful!
Now onto my question... I am wondering why you removed the listed accounts in the sidebar? Is this a permanent change because I really don't like it. Maybe this could be a switch in the preferences? I do like how you have them listed in "All Accounts", though.

Inappropriate? We do have a twitter account that we use quite often...
twitter.com/midnight_apps
We removed accounts form the sidebar because the sidebar can quickly become overwhelming the more accounts you add to cha-ching. Many of our users have between 10 and 20 accounts in cha-ching. The sidebar is not the best place to display these.
This is why we moved them to the all accounts list.
One very important thing to note. We are not finished with the accounts section. In an upcoming release you will be able to designate any account as a "favorite". Favorite accounts will then show up in the sidebar under a heading called "favorite accounts" for quick access.
The other reason for listing all accounts instead of all transactions is that eventually we want to support multiple currencies.
This new view paves the way for each account to be displayed using its own currency when we finally get around to adding currency support to cha-ching.
There are lots of reasons for this change and it is going to make cha-ching much more usable in the long run.

Inappropriate? Can you bring back the "all transaction" section ? It was about the only one I used ! If you don't wan to impose it, just make a preference for it but leave the ability to display that section please.
I even don't know how to get a global balance now...
By the way, it would be great to click on the whole name of the account instead of the little arrow to access its transactions.
I’m frustrated

You can do this yourself, just add a smart vault with the conditions
Any of the following
Account is A
Account is B
Account is C
for each account you want. This is exactly what smart filtering is for ;)
I never used the all transactions view personally, I much prefer having a smart vault for it because I only want active accounts shown, I don't care about closed ones but I still want the data and I don't want things like student loans showing up in there because the balance is thenmassively in the red which isn't the reality -
Thank you for the tip ! -
Inappropriate?Yes, clicking on the whole name of the account in order to show transactions, instead of the little arrow would be an improvement.

Inappropriate?I think that showing only "Favorites" account in the sidebar is a good compromise.
And I also agree with agilis1: clicking on that tiny arrow is really inconvenient. -
Inappropriate?Excellent, designating an account as a favorite will work for me! Thank you. Looking forward to the update.
I’m happy
